I applaud the recent Supreme Court rulings about an enemy combatant's right to legal representation. I recognize the need to protect our country from those who want to do us harm. However, I am glad the court ruled that even the Bush administration is not allowed to run roughshod over the U.S. Constitution, and that it will allow due process for those being held. If President Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft were allowed to have their way, it would set a very dangerous precedent.
I urge all citizens who love freedom and democracy to vote Bush out in November. He has made us less safe by conducting an illegal and immoral war in Iraq.
The film "Fahrenheit 9/11" shows Bush, after he learned of the 9/11 attacks, just sitting there in a classroom for seven minutes while the country was under attack. Unforgivable!
