Director of Natural Resources resigns

CARSON CITY -- Michael Turnipseed, director of the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, resigned Friday after 20 years of state service.
Gov. Kenny Guinn said Allen Biaggi, who's the administrator for the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, will be acting director succeeding Turnipseed in the $109,582 a year job.
Turnipseed, 60, began working for the state in 1984 and became engineer in 1990. He was appointed to his present job in 2000.
