George Barragan

George Barragan, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A truck driver, he was born Dec. 12, 1938, in San Diego.

He is survived by one son, Gary Hoskins of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Sandra Gregory of Hollywood, Calif.; and one sister, Nellie Hammond of Las Vegas.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Eileen V. Pearl Betzel

Eileen V. Pearl Betzel, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Howell, Mich. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired Sunrise Hospital diet clerk for more than 16 years and an employee of Metro Police for 15 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Zwettler of Burbank, Ill., and Marilyn Caputo of Orland Hills, Ill.; one son, Larry Betzel of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Rose A. Cronk

Rose A. Cronk, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Fredericksburg, Texas. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Denis S. Cronk, and one daughter, Karen C. Ray, both of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

John F. DeKenipp

John F. DeKenipp, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired accountant for a food manufacturer, a World War II Army veteran, a member of AMVETS, the 602nd Tank Destroyer Batallion Association and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one daughter, Rosanne Wright of Las Vegas; three sons, Robert J. DeNenipp of Las Vegas, Dennis J. DeKenipp of Brick, N.J., and John J. DeKenipp of Nutley, N.J.; one sister, Cecelia DeMaria of Lakewood, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2-5 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Carmella DiLella

Carmella DiLella, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1915, in Albany, N.Y. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Concetta Cole, and one son, Peter DiLella Jr., both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Rose Arnold of Las Vegas and Angie Deitrick, Concetta Sleasman and Theresa Fournier, all of Albany; two brothers, Charlie Sidoti and Frank Sidoti, both of Albany; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a noon service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Zinnomia Edwards

Zinnomia Edwards, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Arkansas. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired Dunes hotel laundress.

She is survived by one sister, Ruby Banks; one brother; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Terry Everette

Terry Everette, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Chicago. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five sisters, Aurora Pawly, Mary Burton, Ruth Gerali and Gerry Portipilo, all of Las Vegas, and Lily Langtry of Vacaville, Calif.; and four brothers, William Baldare and Angelo Baldare, both of Las Vegas, and Joseph Baldare and Robert Baldare, both of Chicago.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

John E. Fritz

John E. Fritz, 78, of Las Vegas died June 25 in a local hospital. A Navy veteran, he was born June 20, 1926.

He is survived by one brother, Joseph Fritz.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Helen Federico Harris

Helen Federico Harris, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1910, in Tennessee. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired cashier and bookkeeper.

She is survived by one sister, Thelma Vean.

Armand A. Hysette

Armand A. Hysette, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Nashua, N.H. A resident for six years, he was a retired U.S. Border Patrol chief, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the U.S. Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agents Association.

He is survived by his significant other, Debbie Meinster of Las Vegas; two daughters, Dawn G. Duby of Federal Way, Wash., and Jan Thompson of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Florence Shanahan of Dracut, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Harris Kaplan

Harris Kaplan, 61, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Spartanburg, S.C. A resident for six years, he was a teacher, and on several Rhodes Ranch committees.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; one son, Brian Kaplan of Las Vegas; his father, Gilbert Kaplan, and one brother, Arnold Kaplan, both of West Long Branch, N.J.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Michael Krupa

Michael Krupa, 73, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Boissevain, Manitoba. A resident for six years, he was a retired air-conditioning mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Elma.

William T. Long

William T. Long, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 22, 1948, in Atlanta. A resident for five years, he was a retired federal customs agent and a member of the Association of Former Customs Special Agents Inc.

He is survived by three daughters, Sheila Braitkrus of Austin, Texas, Kimberly Long of Washington, D.C., and Erin Shea Long of Atlanta; one son, Brian Long, and one brother, Robert Long, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is private. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Juellieene Alice Montag

Juellieene Alice Montag, 55, of Pahrump died Friday in Pahrump. She was born April 9, 1949, in Minnesota. A resident of Las Vegas from 1973 to 1979 and a Pahrump resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James Roman; her parents, Morris and Ann; one daughter, Jeneese Valencia; two brothers, Jeff and Jack; two sisters, Jenelle and Janice; and three grandchildren.

Rosa K. Moon

Rosa K. Moon, 67, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 3, 1936, in Germany. A resident for 19 years, she was a caretaker.

She is survived by one daughter; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

John F. Pachowicz

John F. Pachowicz, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A letter carrier and a Korean War Army veteran, he was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J.; and one son, Mark Pachowicz.

A memorial service will be California. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John P. Penalosa

John P. Penalosa, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for seven years, he was a retired medical technician.

He is survived by his wife, Cora C.; children; and grandchildren.

Carmen E. Reno, 82, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 12, 1921, in Albuquerque. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker and a member of Golden Nugget Camping Group.

She is survived by two daughters, Cecelia Reno of North Las Vegas and Melody Reno-Ewen of Henderson; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Barbara Sue Rogers

Barbara Sue Rogers, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Van Wert County, Ohio. A resident for seven years, she was a store manager for a retail chain.

She is survived by her husband, Carl B.; one son, Curtis B. Rogers of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Sherri L. Woody of Las Vegas; two sisters, Beverly Grant of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Brenda Grant of North Platte, Neb.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Desert Springs United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive.

James Albert Shipman Sr.

James Albert Shipman Sr., 54, of Las Vegas died June 29 in Las Vegas. He was born June 12, 1950, in California. A resident for 29 years, he was a bar porter, an Army veteran and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Coleen Beth; one son, James Albert Shipman Jr.; three brothers, Daniel Shipman, John Shipman and Michael Shipman; and two sisters, Ann D. Flynn and Monica Bennett.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Phillip Edward Skwarkowski

Phillip Edward Skwarkowski, 48, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. A copy machine technician, he was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Dade, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; one son, Steven Skarkowski, one daughter, Angela McKinney, and one brother, Fred Skarkowski, all of Henderson; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in San Diego.

Kevin Stephens

Kevin Stephens, 35, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; and his parents, Alan and Judy Stephens of Wisconsin.

Alfred Terzotis

Alfred Terzotis, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1938, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Air Force tech sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; one son, Bob Terzotis of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Cheryl Wandro of Ridgefield, Conn.; one sister, Georgia Roxbury of Kansas; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Joyce Theresa Williams

Joyce Theresa Williams, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 8, 1941, in Brandenton, Fla. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired teacher and a member of the National Education Association.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Bickerton; two sons, Marc Williamson and Scott Williamson; four sisters, Lois Denton, Francis Benton, Elizabeth Goudling and Barbara Benton; and four grandchildren.

Nancy Elizabeth Wilmot

Nancy Elizabeth Wilmot, 57, of Henderson died Sunday in Cedar City, Utah. She was born June 25, 1947, in Lynwood, Calif. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Lisa Jones and Amy Wacker, both of Henderson; two sons, Keith Reed of Oak Hills, Calif., and Tyrone Wacker of Madras, Ore.; her mother, Amy Davis of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Mindy, Joey and Mary; two brothers, Tom Davis of Henderson and Neil Davis of Prineville, Ore.; and 13 grandchildren.

Edwin Zimmerle

Edwin Zimmerle, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Butte, Neb. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired sheet metal worker for the federal government, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Oasis Masonic Lodge and American Federation of Government Employees.

He is survived by three sisters, Edna H. Davis of Billings, Mont., Anna Bostom of Sidney, Mont., and Lydia Raterman of Burke, S.D.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
