Fire Explorers meeting on tap
The Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Fire Explorers will be holding an orientation and recruitment meeting from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Las Vegas Fire Training Center, 633 N. Mojave Road.
Students, ages 15-20 years, with a minimum grade of C in all classes and no criminal convictions may apply. If the student is younger than 18, he or she must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Fire Explorers learn what a career in the fire service is about. They attend various classes and have the opportunity to try various activities that firefighters learn while attending the fire academy.

County Commission candidates Q&A set
Charleston Neighborhood Preservation will host a question and answer session for Clark County Commission candidates from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the West Sahara Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.
