Girl who treats others fairly wants to attend camp

WEEKEND EDITION
July 3 - 4, 2004
A mother writes that her daughter is a friendly girl who "sees no difference in people."
The girl was asked by her math teacher last year to befriend another girl who was having trouble fitting in. The teacher looked for someone a little more mature than her classmates and the girl was the natural selection, her mother says.
"Her thing is only that they are nice. They don't have to be popular, just nice," the mother writes.
The girl would like to go to camp but the family cannot afford to send her. The mother has sought the help of the Las Vegas Sun Camp Fund, which directs all donations directly to camp scholarships. All administrative costs are covered by the Sun.
