$1 million bail set in restaurant manager’s death

A 19-year-old woman accused of killing the night manager of a Henderson Applebee's restaurant only days after she had been fired by the restaurant had her bail set at $1 million by Henderson Justice of the Peace Rodney Burr on Thursday.

Elyse Palmer is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 13 to see if she will go to trial for the August 2003 murder of 45-year-old Thomas B. Farrell. Her bail amount is expected to be discussed again at that time.

Palmer us charged with murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.

Palmer allegedly tried to get her friends to help her rob the restaurant, according to the arrest report. Police have said more arrests could be made, but none have been made thus far.

Farrell was found lying dead inside the restaurant on the morning of Aug. 25. An autopsy revealed that Farrell had been shot twice, in the upper left side of his back as well as in the right side of his chest, and his throat had been cut.

Police found the restaurant safe had been ransacked.
