Kosher poker tournament set
The Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas United Jewish Community is hosting the first kosher poker tournament at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Station.
Players 21 years and older are invited to take part in the Texas Hold 'Em tournament.
Cost is $75 is a tax deductible donation to the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.
The first 100 Kosher Poker tournament players will receive a free gift.
Registration and $25 donation are required by noon Friday. Register online at www.jewishlasvegas.com; or by calling the Federation office at 732-0556.
Contractors plan annual scholarship
The Nevada Contractors Association announces its first Howdy Wells Scholarship Award, named after the group's inaugural chairman.
The $1,000 grant will be made available each semester to enrolled University of Nevada, Las Vegas students majoring in construction management or civil engineering. The deadline for fall semester submissions is September 30.
