Letter: Kucinich should get nomination
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 | 9:05 a.m.
No candidate truly embodies the principles of the Democratic Party like Dennis Kucinich. We need look no further for the standard bearer, the one who can carry the torch. He deserves the Democratic nomination.
We have been taught in school that anyone can grow up in this country and become president of the United States. As the nation's youngest big-city mayor, Kucinich fought and won a personally devastating battle on behalf of the people of Cleveland. As a congressman he has a record that reflects his commitment to profound political change.
Kucinich is more electable and capable of winning the White House than any other candidate. His electability will become increasingly apparent as we draw closer to the Democratic convention. He is not getting out of the race. Getting media coverage, however, has been challenging. Democracy is an intensely personal experience and each one of us can bring our own light to bear on this issue. It is imperative that we do. Let's get busy folks. Dennis Kucinich clearly deserves the Democratic nomination.
