Make-A-Wish plans annual run
Make-A-Wish Foundation's third annual Run for A Wish, a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun walk will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman along with the Scintas will be the grand marshals and will be on hand to cut the race ribbon at 9 a.m.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Red Cross benefit is a slam dunk
The second annual Slam Dunk for Local Disaster Relief charity basketball game featuring Throwin' Heat against The Dragnets has been rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The American Red Cross, Southern Nevada Chapter's Disaster Relief fund will benefit from a portion of the proceeds of all tickets sold by the chapter.

Series of dinners aids scholarships
A series of winemaker dinners will be held Monday to benefit the DeLuca Scholarship Foundation. Residents and visitors to Southern Nevada will have an opportunity to dine at many of the area's most prestigious restaurants and enjoy some of the world's finest wines.
The event will support special scholarships for the culinary arts and nursing programs at the Community College of Southern Nevada's four campuses.
An invitation only black-tie optional dinner at Andre's French Restaurants will be the centerpiece of the event. The $250-per-person, five-course meal will be followed by a live auction at 10 p.m. Anyone attending dinners at any of the other participating restaurants are invited to attend.

The Libertarian Party
of Clark County is hosting a candidates forum from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Speakers will include individuals who will seek the Libertarian Party nomination for elected office at the annual state convention March 13. Call 591-7211.
