Boulder City Council briefs for Jan. 28, 2004

Sullard's ouster made official
The Boulder City Council voted Tuesday to end John Sullard's run as city manager, as expected.
The council voted 4-0 to approve a "separation agreement" between the city and Sullard, under which Sullard will be paid $88,284 to leave. His last day on the job will be Feb. 26.
Councilwoman Andrea Anderson arrived late to the meeting from jury duty and missed the vote.
Sullard's severance pay is equal to six months of salary plus pay for unused vacation time. Sullard's annual salary is $128,024.
Sullard wasn't fired but pushed out of the city manager's office by council members who met individually with Sullard to negotiate his departure.
During the Tuesday meeting council members complimented Sullard for his six-plus years as city manager.
Mayor Bob Ferraro said the primary factor in Sullard's departure was his "lack of management and control" over the city-owned Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Meeting scheduled on Boulder Creek
Hoping to clear up some of the confusion about a possible change in management at the financially troubled Boulder Creek Golf Club, the Boulder City Council decided Tuesday to schedule a special meeting on the matter next week.
The meeting will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at City Hall
A private investment group made up of three Boulder City men is negotiating with Triad Golf Management, which now runs the golf course, to possibly take over management of the course.
The group, BCMMR, is headed by Michael Giroux, Randy Schams and Michael Schollian, who was vice president of golf development and operations for MGM Grand when the course was built by the company.
Triad President Scott Jones did not return telephone messages seeking comment Tuesday.
Triad is about 18 months into a 10-year management contract to run the course.
