Colby James Ahlstrom

Colby James Ahlstrom, 14, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1989, in Nevada. He was a member of ROTC.

He is survived by his father, David Johnson; his mother, Lisa Kay Barthel; three brothers, Myles Moore, Mikey Carpenter and Davie Carpenter; and his grandparents, Edith Johnson and Lilian and James VanHooser.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Charles F. Aqui

Charles F. Aqui, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Port of Spain, Trinidad. A resident for three years, he was a retired tow truck driver and a veteran of the Merchant Marines in England.

He is survived by his wife, A. Greta; five daughters, Greta Clarke and Stephanie Aqui, both of San Jose, Calif., Yvette Turpin of Port of Spain, Berlinda Aqui Loverde of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Carmen Aqui of Riverside, Calif.; two sons, David and Richard, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Annette of Bremerton, Wash. two brothers, Inskip of London and Norris of Port of Spain; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is private. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Floyd Eugene Beardall

Floyd Eugene Beardall, 75, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Spanish Fork, Utah. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired millwright for a titanium producer.

He is survived by four sons, Steven E. Beardall, Kelly F. Beardall and Jeffery W. Beardall, all of Henderson, and Randy D. Beardall of Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Colette Beck of Magna, Utah, and Shana Gilson of Henderson; one sister, Beth Gull of Utah; 26 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Ocean Street chapel, Skyline Ward. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Susanne F. Beatty

Susanne F. Beatty, 59, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 8, 1944, in Faribault, Minn. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired elementary school teacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Jana Beatty of Berkeley, Calif.; one son, Kory Woodbury of St. George, Utah; her mother, Irene O'Brien of Faribault; one sister, Patricia Chenier, and one brother, Edward O'Brien, both of Eau Claire, Wis.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Karen D. Beaumonte

Karen D. Beaumonte, 59, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born May 13, 1944, in Richmond, Minn. A resident for 16 years, she was an office assistant for the Clark County Housing Authority and was a member of the 51 Club.

She is survived by her husband, Donald C.; three sons, Todd Keoho and Kauinohea Keoho, both of Honolulu, and Troy Keoho of Kona, Hawaii; one brother, John Mortensen of Georgia; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Versie Blackburn

Versie Blackburn, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif. She was born April 30, 1925, in Kimper, Ky. A resident for one year, she was a member of the Eastern Star and the Desert Newcomers Club.

She is survived by her husband, Jeremiah; one daughter, Gloria McCarthy of Henderson; three sons, Larry Blackburn and Glenn Blackburn, both of Newark, Ohio, and Rodney Blackburn of Hopkins, S.C.; one sister, Olivia Maddox of Ashland, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday with services following at 4 p.m. in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jhakirine Blaney

Jhakirine Blaney, 29, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 27, 1974, in Hawaii. A resident for six years, she was a customer service representative for Nevada Power Co.

She is survived by her husband, Albert W. Jr.; her father, Jose Sandoval; her mother and stepfather, Sandra and David Torres; one son, Koa Lincoln; one daughter, Rheina Piilani Lincoln; two brothers, Sean Sandoval and David "Psy' Torres; and four sisters, Shannon Torres, Luana Torres, Joahna Sandoval and Adele Sandoval.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday at Nellis Air Force Base's Holy Cross Chapel. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mary Diamond Buchholz

Mary Diamond Buchholz, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Glendale, Calif. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker, president-elect of the Mesquite Club, past president of the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary and past president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs in Nevada and New Jersey and Absecon New Jersey Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Alan L.; one son, Lowen Buchholz, and one daughter, Jen L. Buchholz, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Roscoe H. Goodell Jr.

Roscoe H. Goodell Jr., 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Greenwich, Conn. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Army colonel and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Richard Goodell of Portland, Ore., and Brett Goodell of Frederick, Md.; one daughter, Diane Jones-Lewis of Tucson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Edward Hochstadt

Edward Hochstadt, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 16, 1919, Middle Village, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was an electrician in the aircraft industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is suvived by his wife, Thelma; one daughter, Judith Hantin of Henderson; and one grandchild.

Private services were held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Cody L. Hunter

Cody L. Hunter, 21, of Las Vegas died Jan. 7 in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1982, in Las Vegas. He was a retail salesman.

He is survived by one daughter, Alize Johnson, one son, Dashuan Tyrek McGreggory, his mother, Annette Times, and his grandmother, Derma Johnson, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Yun Heng Hurh

Yun Heng Hurh, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Korea. A resident for two months, he was a hotel owner.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Sung; four daughters, Monica Hurh-Yi and Elizabeth Hurh, both of Las Vegas, Maria Hurh of Seoul, Korea, and Cecilia Hurh-Kwon of Seattle; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Mary Jane Jones

Mary Jane Jones, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Butler, Pa. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Jones of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Roy Jon Kassebaum

Roy Jon Kassebaum, 69, of Boulder City died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 31, 1934, in St. Louis. A resident for five years, he was an electrical engineer, a Navy and Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy; two daughters, Debbie Gotlieb of California and Sherrie Buike of Colorado; one son, Roy Frederick Kassebaum Jr. of California; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Christ Lutheran Church, 1401 Fifth St., Boulder City. Graveside services will be 8:40 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Hailey Ann Larsen, 3, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 25, 2000, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Ryan and Keri Larsen, and one brother, Cody Larsen, all of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Vincent and Betty DeLillo and Pat and Sheila Deason, all of Las Vegas, Buster and Susan Neel of Boise, Idaho, and Steve and Mary Larsen of Cedar City, Utah.

Howard D. Langley

Howard D. Langley, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born Aug. 16, 1949, in Kerrville, Texas. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine E.; two sons, Marcus Langley of Trenton, Ohio, and Timothy Langley of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

Sandra Levine, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 26 years, she was born Dec. 21, 1939, in New York.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Levine, Robert Levine and Terry Levine, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Jeff Schachter of New York; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Mary Maddaloni

Marjorie Mary Maddaloni, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 7, 1924, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 30 years, she was an artist.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Barbara Baumgardner of California; one sister, Audrey Dodge-Perez-Lorenzo of the Canary Islands; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Saturday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be private.

Robert P. McCallum Sr.

Robert P. McCallum Sr., 79, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in San Leandro, Calif. A resident for 4 1/2 years, he was a retired Merchant Marines chief engineer, a World War II veteran, a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies and Association of Realtors.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; five daughters; four sons; one sister, Dolores Edwards of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gerald McCarthy, 89, of Las Vegas, died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Lincoln Neb. A resident for one year and a former resident of Ely for 88 years, he was a smelter statistician for a mining company.

He is survived by three daughters, Rita Foulkrod of Las Vegas and Jeri Fengler and Jacque Wehrle, both of Portland, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Maryann Levie of Elko; two stepsons, Jim Levie of Ely and Allen Levie of Elko; one brother, John McCarthy of Las Vegas; one sister, Margaret Robertson of Richmond, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in Ely. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling local arrangements.

Sequoia Jo-Han Miller

Sequoia Jo-Han Miller, 18, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in San Diego. A student, she was born Sept. 23, 1985, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by five brothers, Reginald Miller of Illinois and Milton Miller, Hilton Miller, Yaphet Kotto Miller and Million Miller, all of Las Vegas; and eight sisters, Darlene Herndon and Debra Carter, both of Georgia, Michelle Palm, La Tashia Goodlow, Sexia Miller, Misty Baker and Airanna Hymes, all of Las Vegas, and Charmaine Miller of Illinois.

Loretta V. Monroe-Shei, 76, of Moapa Valley died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born March 31, 1927, in Morris County, Texas. A resident for 11 years, she was a aesthetician in the field of cosmetics.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel P.; three daughters, Bren L. Cattelan and Lori J. Monroe-Gaines, both of Las Vegas, and Tami Lane Sarvello of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Maria Isela Negrete, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 23, 1920, in Havana. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Berta Schulte; one sister, Enedina Garcia of Miami; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Aaron Frank Peregoff, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Baltimore. A resident for 49 years, he was a furniture salesman, an Army veteran and a member of the Jewish War Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia; two daughters, Rose Noranbrock and Aileen Peregoff; and three grandchildren.

Joseph Racicot, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A printer for a publishing company and a World War II Navy veteran, he was born May 24, 1924, in Cambridge, Mass.

He is survived by his wife, Carmella M.; and one son, Richard Racicot of Massachusetts.

Mass was scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

John T. Smith

John T. Smith, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Elko. A resident for five years, he was a retired railroad chief engineer, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Masons in Winnemucca.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy L.; five daughters, Dawn M. Smith and Dalene M. Griffiths, both of Gardnerville, Darcie M. Westin of Carson City, Diana K. Hunter of Port Angeles, Wash., and Karen Sue Webber of Rio Vista, Calif.; one son, Max G. Mitchell of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Harriett Webber of Rio Vista and Frances Linn of Boise; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Genevieve Sobieraj, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Hamtramck, Mich. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Was of Las Vegas and Margaret Bryan and Nancy Kozan, both of Michigan.

Elizabeth "Betty" Tolland, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Rumford, Maine. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired government secretary and a World War II Women's Army Air Corps veteran.

She is survived by one sister, Marie Hamilton of Las Vegas; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

He is survived by one son, Michael of Las Vegas; his mother, Elizabeth Wisniewski; and one brother, Tony of Chicago.
