Letter: State’s website wastes laid-off workers’ time
Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 | 8:46 a.m.
On Monday, in a story about the state being ready to help laid-off workers from the Horseshoe, the Sun printed the web address for filing unemployment claims. This led me to one more instance of government arrogance. I spent 15 minutes filling out all the forms, only to be told the site was offline just now and to try again later.
When I tried again later, I spent another 15 minutes to be told once again that the site was offline and to try again later.
When I try again tomorrow, it'll be the same 15 minutes to find out whether it is online or not. Even online, the state has a penchant for wasting citizens' time.
