Charles 'Chief' Acorn
Charles "Chief" Acorn, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 2, 1942, in Oklahoma. A resident for 10 years, he was an aircraft refueler and a Vietnam Air Force veteran.
He is survived by four sisters, Jane Russell and Betty Stone, both of Oklahoma, Anita Hodgin of Virginia and Lou Fulton of Arkansas; and one brother, Bill Acorn.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Theodore 'Rosy' Chandler Sr.
Theodore "Rosy" Chandler Sr., 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 25, 1933, in Pheba, Miss. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired plumber and a member of the Pipe Fitters and Plumbers Union.
He is survived by four sons, Corey Chandler, Theodore Chandler Jr. and Caissus Chandler, all of Las Vegas, and Samuel Harvey of Texas; two daughters, Sarah Faye Jackson of Las Vegas and Deborah Chandler of Tacoma, Wash.; one stepson, Otis Banks of Las Vegas; and three stepdaughters, Willie Deloris Banks of North Las Vegas and Gloria Jean Jackson and Joan Clark, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Friday in Victory Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Graveside services will follow.
Bernice W. Cuthbertson
Bernice W. Cuthbertson, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Carnegie, Okla. A resident for 15 years, she was a sales representative for a Kansas City newspaper.
She is survived by two sons, Lloyd J. Cunningham of Las Vegas and Jerry L. Cunningham of Groveland, Fla.; one brother, C.J. Willis of Stillwater, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
Sue Foremaster
Sue Foremaster, 73, of Boulder City died Monday in Boulder City. She was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Canyon, Texas. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired property manager at commercial shops.
She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Johneen Creathbaum of Boulder City; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Rodger Daniel Green
Rodger Daniel Green, 60, of Boulder City died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Dallas. A resident for seven years, he was a floor supervisor at the Silverton and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon L.; two sons, Dan Green of Las Vegas and Randy Green of Maryland; one daughter, Barbara C. Green of Henderson; one sister, Barbara H. Green of Carollton, Texas; two brothers, John Green of Carrollton and David Green of The Woodlands, Texas; and six grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.
Rose Jean Jones
Rose Jean Jones, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 15, 1943, in St. Louis. A resident for 26 years, she was a time-share service representative and a member of Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by one sister, Paulette Jones Clark.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling pending arrangements.
Martina Ayong Limon
Martina Ayong Limon, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Candon Ilocos Sur, Philippines. A resident for one year, she was a seamstress.
She is survived by two daughters, Inocencia L. Shimoji and Piercy L. Hoffman, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Hoover A. Limon of Florence, Ariz., and Teller A. Limon of Fremont, Calif.; two sisters, Denise Cagdan and Magdelena Cirilo, both of the Philippines; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is private. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Robert A. Luther
Robert A. Luther, 69, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 19, 1934, in Chicago. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired federal government electrical engineer and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carole J.; two sons, John Luther of Henderson and David Luther of Bloomfield, Colo.; four stepsons; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Mark Anthony Mello
Mark Anthony Mello, 44, of Las Vegas died Jan. 4 in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1959, in California. A resident for eight years, he was a printer and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son, Jack Mello of Morristown, Minn.; two daughters, Samantha Mello of Morristown and Alexis Mello of Las Vegas; his parents, Alfred and Roberta Mello of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Kent Mello and Bret Mello, both of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Eula Brannon of Mesa.
A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Everett C. Moore
Everett C. Moore, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in East St. Louis, Ill. A resident for 48 years, he was a dealer and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Donna Chesto of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Moore of Las Vegas and Bill Moore of Beaverton, Ore.; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.
Patricia Nicola
Patricia Nicola, 72, of Pell City, Ala., died Saturday in Pell City. A former Nevada resident, she was born Aug. 5, 1931, in Philadelphia.
She is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Michlis and Toni Holnes, both of Las Vegas, Patricia Hill of Leeds, Ala., and Catherine Carlisle of Pell City; two sons, James Nicola of Las Vegas and Nicholas Nicola of Nipomo, Calif.; one brother, Robert E. O'Neill of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 55 E. Reno Ave. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
James David Powell
James David Powell, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1928, in Indianapolis. A retired dry cleaner, he was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Norma J.; one daughter, Linda Pellegrino; one son, John Powell; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Robert S. Railey
Robert S. Railey, 71, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1932, in St. Louis. A resident for 10 years, he was an assistant director of veterans affairs for the federal government and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; one brother, Michael Railey, and two sisters, Cora Malone and Frances White, all of St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2450 Revere St., North Las Vegas. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Dorothy Riedinger
Dorothy Riedinger, 85, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Iowa.
She is survived by one son, Jim Riedinger of Henderson.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Spencer, Iowa. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Virginia C. Stoltz
Virginia C. Stoltz, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Ewing, Ill. A resident for 19 years, she was a bookkeeper for an insurance firm.
She is survived by one son, Charles R. Stoltz of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Stanley Strumlauf
Stanley Strumlauf, 75, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1928, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for one year, he was a retired meat cutter, a Korean War Army veteran, a member of B'nai B'rith and the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; two daughters, Fae Albrecht of Aloha, Ore., and Lisa Ginsberg of Agoura Hills, Calif.; two sons, Bruce Strumlauf of La Jolla, Calif., and Curt Strumlauf of Moorpark, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Jack Hudson Tonata
Jack Hudson Tonata, 31, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A resident for one year, he was born Nov. 14, 1972, in Haveluloto, Tonga.
He is survived by one daughter, Finau Tonata, one son, Sione Tonata, his father, Sione Tonata, and one sister, Doreen Tonata, all of North Las Vegas; and four brothers, Luke Tonata and Viliami Tonata, both of Reno, Salesi H. Tonata of North Las Vegas and Amanaki Tonata of Tonga.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
