Catholic Healthcare West has obtained a building permit to construct its third hospital in the Las Vegas Valley.
San Francisco-based CHW owns St. Rose Dominican Hospitals in Henderson, which has two campuses: Siena and Rose de Lima.
The Clark County building permit was issued on Dec. 30 for a $7.7 million hospital at 8280 W. Warm Springs Rd.
San Martin Hospital will be the third Southwest Las Vegas Valley hospital and is licensed for 200 beds. An adjoining medical office building will also be available when the hospital opens in 2006, St. Rose spokeswoman Shauna Walch said.
A groundbreaking date has not been announced, but will be soon, she said.
CHW will provide the major source of funding, but community donations will also be sought, Walch said.
