Sanford Chernin

Sanford Chernin, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. A jewelry salesman and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he was born May 16, 1921, in Cleveland.

He is survived by one nephew, Michael Chernin of Anaheim, Calif.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tie Club, 329 N. 11 St. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Irma Dell Crain

Irma Dell Crain, 64, of Boulder City died Thursday in a local care center. She was born June 18, 1939, in West Union, Ohio. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired hospital certified nurse's aide who worked for 20 years at Boulder City Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Carol MacLeod, and one son, Tim Crain, both of Boulder City; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601.

James Dossey

James Dossey, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 13, 1926, in Arizona. A resident for two years, he was a retired aircraft maintenance worker and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Carmen Acosta of Big Bear City, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Erlyn E. Durgan

Erlyn E. Durgan, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 18 years, she was born April 5, 1914, in New York.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton F.; two daughters, Dale M. Comminey and Mia T. Coaxum, both of Las Vegas; one son, Robert F. Durgan of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Charles H. Fields Sr.

Charles H. Fields Sr., 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 20, 1941, in Dante, Va. A resident for three years, he was a long distance truck driver and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond Fields of Las Vegas and Charles Henry Fields Jr. of California; two daughters, Renee Fields and Karen Fields, both of California; his mother, Phyllis Gist of Arizona; and 13 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Bertha (Kiriazis) Galanes

Bertha (Kiriazis) Galanes, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 25, 1916, in New York City. A resident for one year, she was a retired casino cashier.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. service at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Pinto Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Marx D. Graves

Marx D. Graves, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1913, in West Beverly, Wash. A resident for eight years, he was a retired aerospace mechanical researcher and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; two daughters, Karolyn K. Graves of Las Vegas and Marxene Lyons of Henderson; and one grandson, Steve Lyons of Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ruth M. Harrington

Ruth M. Harrington, 66, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 12, 1937, in Minneapolis. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth R. Harrington of Apple Valley, Minn.; three stepbrothers, Curtiss Smith and Kenneth Smith, both of Minnesota, and Leroy Smith of California; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Carlos A. Henderson

Carlos A. Henderson, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1945, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 17 years, he was a hospital labor relations expert and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one stepdaughter, Anne Coyle, and one stepson, Michael Coyle, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Shirley Holden of New York; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 5 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Rudy I. Latham

Rudy I. Latham, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 19, 1914, in Huntingburg, Ind. A resident for 54 years, she was a deli manager at Vegas Village market, a member of the Eastern Star and a volunteer for Hospice Care.

She is survived by one niece, Caroline Goodnight of Texas.

Visitation was scheduled 2-5 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Mabel Mikkelson

Mabel Mikkelson, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. An engraver, she was born April 9, 1920, in Grandville, Minn.

She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Quintana of Arvada, Colo.; her parents, Ivan and Marie Berg; and one brother, Dennis Mikkelson.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Clement G. Reedel

Clement G. Reedel, 64, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 10, 1939, in Philadelphia. A resident for seven years, he was a retired police chief of Upper Marion Township, Pa., and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette; one daughter, Alicia "Lisa" Ramsey, and one son, Jeffrey Reedel, both of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Valerie Dee Rushing

Valerie Dee Rushing, 51, of Gulfport, Miss., died Dec. 15 in Gulfport. She was born Jan. 21, 1952, in Evansville, Ind. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a gaming industry employee.

She is survived by two brothers, Bob Rushing and Coy D. Rushing, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister, Karen J. Bellerson of Phoenix; and her soulmate, Jerry Porter of Gulfport.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Gulfport. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes Inc., is handling arrangements.

James Lee Torrence

James Lee Torrence, 47, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in St. Louis. He was born Aug. 11, 1956, in Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Veta of St. Louis; and his parents, Ella Mae and James Lee Torrence Sr.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in St. Louis. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Delbert M. Toupin

Delbert M. Toupin, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 11, 1927, in Detroit. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired automotive inspector, a World War II Navy veteran and a lifetime member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Angeline M.; six daughters, Linda, Cynthia, Victoria and Cheryl, all of Michigan, Christine of California and Lisa of Colorado; two sons, Thomas of Nevada and James of Arizona.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Henry A. Wierzbicki

Henry A. Wierzbicki, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Old Brookville, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired operating engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Madeline Rotegliano and Sylvia Wierzbicki, both of Glen Head, N.Y., and Alexis Neuenhaus of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Sophie Russek of Glen Cove, N.Y., and Pauline Wolyneic of Maspeth, N.Y.; one brother, Felix Wierzbicki, and his companion, Goldie Landau, both of Las Vegas.
