Mary Trini Baca

Mary Trini Baca, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born March 4, 1918, in Denver. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired reweaving shop owner.

She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Allen of Las Vegas; two brothers, Frank Ankele of Denver and Max Ankele Jr. of Woodenville, Wash.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is arranging private graveside services.

The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Louise M. Case Burgess

Louise M. Case Burgess, 62, of Las Vegas died Jan. 2 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 13, 1941, in California. A resident for 32 years, she was a beautician.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick of North Las Vegas; one son, Dennis W. Case Jr. of Las Vegas; and one sister, Elizabeth Herrera of California.

Services will be noon Sunday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.

Solomon Chernin

Solomon Chernin, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. A jewelry salesman and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he was born May 16, 1921, in Cleveland.

He is survived by one nephew, Michael Chernin of Anaheim, Calif.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tie Club, 329 N. 11 St. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Virginia Jane Domagala

Virginia Jane Domagala, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 29, 1921, in Streator, Ill. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Stephen R.; two sons, Steven P. Domagala of Las Vegas and Joseph Domagala of Virginia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Entombment will follow in Eden Vale Mausoleum.

Keone D. Ernestberg

Keone D. Ernestberg, 24, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for five years, he was born March 23, 1979, in Honolulu.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kimberlyn and Glenn Fortuno of Hawaii; his father and stepmother, John Marelee Ernestberg, and three brothers, Brandon Ernestberg, Jeremy Ernestberg and Dayne Ernestberg, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Natalyn Fortuno of Hawaii.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in the LDS Palo Verde Ward. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Eugene V. Gordon

Eugene V. Gordon, 91, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. A retired aerospace electrical engineer, he was born Dec. 19, 1912, in Los Angeles.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; three sons, Stuart Gordon of Bakersfield, Calif., Charles Gordon of Erie, Colo., and Lynn Gordon of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Jimmy Eugene Hassell

Jimmy Eugene Hassell, 59, of Lewisville, Texas, died Tuesday in Lewisville. He was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Waxahachie, Texas. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a singer, musician and composer who had been part of the Kirby Stone Four, Hassell with Wisdom, Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and the television series "Rollin' on the River." In 1977, he produced the award-winning production show "Sassy Class" at the Stardust hotel.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Hassell of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Billy Hassell of Ferris, Texas, and Melvin Hassell of Dallas.

Green Funeral Home, Ferris, handled private arrangements.

Anne Joffee

Anne Joffee, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 24, 1912. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker and a member of B'nai B'rith Lodge 2825.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Naomi Keilholtz

Naomi Keilholtz, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Baltimore. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Naomi Lee Slater and Carol Lee Cantino, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorris Evans, and one brother, Dave Sappington, both of Baltimore; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Eileen Lantrip

Eileen Lantrip, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Marietta, Ohio. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired aviation secretary.

She is survived by two sons, William Cooper of Denver and Terry Cooper of Panama City Beach, Fla.; two stepsons, Terry Lantrip of Sacramento and E. Wayne Bowen of Long Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Virginia S. Lopez

Virginia S. Lopez, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Arden. A lifelong resident, she was a retired hotel waitress, a member of the Elks and the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Therese Bricknell, and three sons, Fernando "John" Lopez, Roger Daniel Lopez and Ernest Frank Lopez, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Sylvia Silva of Chico, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Robert Francis Manley

Robert Francis Manley, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 20, 1920, in Missouri. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired Army infantry officer, a lifetime member of the Military Officers Association and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie G.; three sons, John Manley, Daniel Manley and Craig Manley; two sisters, Helen Leland and Pat Kendig; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mary Mason

Mary Mason, 89, of Henderson, died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 28, 1914, and was a businesswoman.

She is survived by one son, John Mason of Henderson.

Hites Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Manuel Ernesto Miranda

Manuel Ernesto Miranda, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1948, in Panama. A resident for 10 years, he was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Jason Miranda of Texas and Erik Miranda of Las Vegas; his father, Edwin M. Miranda of Texas; his mother, Enriqueta Fong, and one brother, George Miranda, both of Florida.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Virginia M. Pizzi

Virginia M. Pizzi, 81, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 31, 1922, in New York City. A resident for three years, she was a retired department store saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, James A.; one son, James N. Pizzi of North Las Vegas; three sisters, Lillian Moglia of New York, Mildred Osuna of Phoenix and Florence Guida of New York; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Ben Simon

Ben Simon, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 18, 1929, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired tavern owner, a member of Holocaust Survivors Group, Armenian Club and Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.

He is survived by three sons, Leonard Simon and Robert Simon, both of Las Vegas, and David Simon of Chicago; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Donald Stone

Donald Stone, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Glendale, Calif. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired craps dealer.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; three daughters, Melody Reuter of Hillsboro, Ore., Kimberley Olson of Las Vegas and Jennifer Stone of San Diego; two sons, Curtis Stone of Phoenix and Derek Stone of Escondido, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2100 Maryland S. Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

James E. Talley

James E. Talley, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1947, in Mount Vernon, Ill. He was a retired craftsman of woodworking and signs, a Vietnam War Army veteran, was president of the Nevada State Trapshooter Association and was a NASCAR official.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two sons, Jeff of Las Vegas and Russell of Genoa, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Heather Kulickowski, one stepson, Robert Collins, both of South Berwick, Maine; one sister, Janet of Rockford, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Roosevelt Ward

Roosevelt Ward, 74, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A head custodian at a community school, he was born July 24, 1929, in Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Estelle; and his mother, Gladys Ward.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Gary, Ind. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
