Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004 | 11:10 a.m.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Tuesday for the new Internal Revenue Service office building at 110 City Parkway, at the now vacant 61 acres in downtown Las Vegas near the Las Vegas Premium Outlet mall. The four-story building will be more than 92,200 square feet and is expected to be completed in November.
Once completed, about 300 employees, who now work at 4750 W. Oakey Blvd., will move out of the current IRS building into the new building. The old building's fate hasn't yet been decided.
