Ruth Irene Basinger
Ruth Irene Basinger, 87, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Braddock, Pa. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired flower shop owner.
She is survived by one son, Tom Basinger of Boulder City; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Virginia R. Boutin
Virginia R. Boutin, 90, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired secretary for Chrysler Corp. and a member of Lend-A-Hand.
She is survived by one son, Jim Boutin; one niece, Jana Kurtz of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and her namesake, Virginia Carpenter of Fairfield Bay, Ark.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 1401 Fifth St., Boulder City. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Myra May Buschmann
Myra May Buschmann, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 2, 1916, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Lindemulder of Las Vegas and Carol Augustine of Thousand Palms, Calif.; one son, Ernest Buschmann of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Arthur Butler
Arthur Butler, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A truck driver, he was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Westfield, Wis.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Los of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Penny Gorniak of Sherwood, Wis.; one brother, Carl Butler of Henderson; one sister, Laura Sachse of Two Rivers, Wis.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Hills Baptist Church, 4401 S. Nellis Blvd. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Scott A. Craig
Scott A. Craig, 39, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1964, in Van Nuys, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired owner-operator of an artificial plant company.
He is survived by his partner, Richard Mosher, and his mother, Diana Craig, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Leanna Page of Cypress, Calif.; and his grandmother, Lola Deitch of Las Vegas.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

William A. Fraser
William A. Fraser, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 16, 1928, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired firefighter and a World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Billy Fraser of Las Vegas and Timothy Fraser of Blue Island, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Loretta F. Frediani
Loretta F. Frediani, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 13, 1933, in Fort Smith, Ark. A resident for many years, she was a retired cook.
She is survived by five daughters, Janet Coleman of Las Vegas, Cynthia Victor of Flagstaff, Ariz., Marcia Perez of Houston, Karen Alvarez of Ashulot, N.H., and Valerie Guzman of Benton, Ark.; three sons, George Turner of Fort Smith, Johney Turner of Las Vegas and Darren Turner of Mena, Ark.; her mother, Carlene B. Spears of Arkadelphia, Ark.; two brothers, Tommy Kirby and James Kirby, both of Santa Rosa, Calif.; six sisters, Pat Fleming of Arkansas, Brenda Bates of Benton, Joan Halsey and Nora Smith, both of Santa Rosa, Delores Fouche of Cobb Mountain, Calif., and Sandra Kertezy; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS Viewpoint Ward at Hollywood Boulevard and Kell Lane. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
John William Gaffey
John William Gaffey, 87, of Encinitas, Calif., died Saturday in Encinitas. He was born Sept. 22, 1916, in Meriden, Conn. A former Las Vegas resident, he was captain of room service at the Sands hotel 1953-1961 and worked at the Tropicana and Caesars Palace in the '60s and '70s.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Ouellette and Doris Allen.
He is survived by two sons, Patrick Gaffey of Las Vegas and Michael Gaffey of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one sister, Katherine Dorsey, and one brother, Joseph Gaffey, both of Connecticut; and his good friend, Joan Largey of San Diego.

Albert Norman Galvin
Albert Norman Galvin, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local nursing center. He was born March 24, 1915, in Sparks. A resident of Carlin for many years and most recently a Las Vegas resident for one year, he was a retired transportation conductor and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Elda J.; two daughters, Sandra Sandel of Centerville, Texas, and Sally Jost of Las Vegas; one son, Joseph Galvin of Carlin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Norman Gerber
Norman Gerber, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 1, 1927, in Russia. A resident for two years, he was a retired musician, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Musicians Union in Kansas City, Mo., and the Jewish War Veterans.
He is survived by one sister, Pauline Grandis of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Abraham Gerber of Westminster, Calif., Morton Gerber of New Jersey and Louis Gerber of New York.

Robert Haynes Jr.
Robert Haynes Jr., 79, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 5, 1924, in St. Louis. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service supervisor and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Efu-Efu; four daughters, Wanda Haynes of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Seila Haynes of Henderson, Kathy Sanstad of Berkeley, Calif., and Paula Green of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Haynes III of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Eleanor Horton, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Westchester, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired U.S. Postal Service clerk.
She is survived by one daughter, Maureen Fornander of Las Vegas; and one son, Arnold Horton of New York City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Joaquin Hunter, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for a watch manufacturer.
He is survived by his mother, Juana Hunter.

Gary F. Martin, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Mayfield, Calif. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and a Vietnam War and Desert Storm veteran.
He is survived by his longtime friend, Lynn Leider; and several cousins.

Germaine "Gerry" Noonan, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Manchester, N.H. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church's outreach program.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford Noonan of Las Vegas and Raymond Noonan of Issaquah, Wash.; and one brother, Lucien Duval of Manchester.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Karen Olson, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Huntington, N.Y.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Bare of Las Vegas.

Cloyd Garland Thompson
Cloyd Garland Thompson, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Iowa. A resident for 34 years, he was a heavy equipment operator in the transportation industry.
He is survived by two sons, Roger Alan Thompson of Las Vegas and Cloyd Eugene Thompson of Norwood, Calif.; two brothers, Marvin Delmar Thompson of Birch Falls, Wis., and Ivan Thompson of Sweet Home, Ore.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

L. Maxine Thompson, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 25, 1914, in Richland, Kan. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one grandson, Ryan Thompson.

Tossie Bess Tinsley
Tossie Bess Tinsley, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 15, 1929, in Norfolk, Va. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Charleen Tinsley-Ali of Burke, Va., and Sandra Tinsley of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

James Michael Umfress
James Michael Umfress, 47, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Dec. 30 in Fort Worth. He was born Oct. 21, 1956 in Yuma, Ariz. A former longtime Las Vegas resident, he was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; one son, James Christopher Umfress of Horn Lake, Miss.; one daughter, Barbie Umfress Brown of Las Vegas; his parents, James and Betty Umfress, and one sister, Debbie Bedoya, all of Yuma.
A memorial service date is pending.
