Home Depot Inc., the world's largest home-improvement chain, said it bought Creative Touch Interiors, which installs floors and counters for home builders in Southern California and Las Vegas. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Closely held Creative Touch Interiors, which has 200 employees, is based in San Diego, Atlanta-based Home Depot said today.
The purchase is part of Home Depot's two-year-old business targeting the $25 billion in supplies and services bought by home builders each year. Chief Executive Robert Nardelli is looking for ways to generate revenue from the 1,675-store chain after growth slowed amid increased competition from Lowe's Cos.
