Gloria Bernard

Gloria Bernard, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 11, 1925, in Newark, N.J. A resident for four years, she was a retired owner of retail clothing stores.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Bernard of Las Vegas; one son, Larry Bernard of Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.

All services will be held through Hillside Mortuary, Los Angeles. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., assisted with arrangements.

Kim D. Brodrick-Stewart

Kim D. Brodrick-Stewart, 45, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. A resident for 39 years, she was born Feb. 22, 1958, in Albuquerque.

She is survived by her father, Wayne W. Brodrick of Las Vegas; one sister, Kay D. Simpler of North Pole, Alaska; and two nephews, Kevin Brodrick Simpler of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Phillip Wayne Simpler of the North Pole.

Amanda Carrillo

Amanda Carrillo, 15, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Blue Island, Ill. She was born July 10, 1988, in Illinois.

She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Rosalba (Esparza) Carrillo.

Minerva M. Cordell

Minerva M. Cordell, 90, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 1, 1913, in Oelwein, Iowa. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one sister, Mary V. Linton of Las Vegas; and one brother, Del Scarcello of Pueblo, Colo.

Visitation was scheduled noon-4 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Mary Jane A. Coyle

Mary Jane A. Coyle, 70, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born April 18, 1933, in Chicago. A resident for seven years, she was a retired park supervisor.

She is survived by her companion, George Everett of Henderson; and one daughter, Terri Lee Barnett of Downers Grove, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. memorial service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jim Xay Dawong

Jim Xay Dawong, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1940, in Laos. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired hotel porter.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Lisa Souksomphang and Tina Skelton, both of Las Vegas, and April Staruch of Newport News, Va.; one son, Scott Syphanthavong of Albert Lea, Minn.; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Betty Dingman

Betty Dingman, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in California. A resident for six years, she was a retired dietician.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy, Margarette and Cindy; one sister, Margaret; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Rae Ann Distasi

Rae Ann Distasi, 34, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. An accounts receivable and collections clerk, she was born July 24, 1969, in Miami, Ohio.

She is survived by one daughter, Nichole Gibson of Arlington, Texas; her mother, Carol Scudder of Las Vegas; her father, Phil Lindsay of Indiana; two brothers, Michael Burch of North Carolina and John Burch of Hawaii; and one sister, Andrea Fisher of Mundelein, Ill.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Mundelein. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Annetta Hackett

Annetta Hackett, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 17, 1917, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired administrative assistant in the field of education.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Lee Hackett of Denver; three daughters, Nancy Anne Hackett of Kansas City, Mo., and Patricia Leslie Hackett Fairbairn and Ellen Kay Hackett Fairbairn, both of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Jan. 17 in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

William J. Haynes Sr.

William J. Haynes Sr., 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 1, 1916, in Oklahoma. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired director of Las Vegas recreation centers and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

He is survived by three daughters, Veronica Goodwin, Veretta Smith and Martyna Hill, all of Las Vegas; one son, William J. Haynes Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Wendell Haynes of Durham, N.C., and Marques Haynes of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Joshua Paul Liddiard

Joshua Paul Liddiard, 24, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A sheet metal worker, he was born Dec. 7, 1979, in Utah.

He is survived by his father, Dale Liddiard of Las Vegas; and his mother, Sharon (Davis) Wormley of Springville, Utah.

Harrison Charles Martin, Melissa Dee Martin, William 'Chaz' Martin III

Harrison Charles Martin, 6, and his parents, Melissa Dee Martin, 34, and William "Chaz" Martin III, 39, all of Las Vegas died Thursday.

Harrison was born Nov. 30, 1997, in Las Vegas and was a kindergarten student and a member of a Pee Wee soccer league.

Melissa was born June 12, 1969, in Las Vegas and was an aesthetician in cosmetology.

"Chaz" was born July 18, 1964, in California and was a casino doorman.

Harrison is survived by his grandparents, and Melissa's parents, Garry and Victoria Carter and his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Higgins. Melissa and "Chaz" are survived by their son, and Harrison's brother, Madison. Melissa is also survived by one brother, Garry J. Carter and her aunt, Linda Higgins. "Chaz" is also survived by two sisters, Ty Dobecki and Ja Dee Locke.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Christ Church Episcopal, 2100 Maryland S. Parkway. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Paul J. Minden

Paul J. Minden, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1911, in Charleston, Ark. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired real estate executive and also was retired from the motion picture industry.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Minden of Fort Smith, Ark., and Denise Minden of Las Vegas; one son, Dennis Minden of Fort Smith; one sister, Catherine Elsken of Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Walter Thomas Morris

Walter Thomas Morris, 62, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Indianapolis. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service postman.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; one daughter, Tricia Fowler, and one son, Eddie Morris, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bernie Morris and Johnny Morris; and five sisters, Mildred Lambert, Doris McGuire, Margie Parra, Cathy Drake and Carol Shetekin, all of St. Louis.

Visitation is scheduled noon-3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Helen Olsen

Helen Olsen, 79, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. A teacher, she was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; and two sons, Dan Row of Alaska and Gary Row of California.

Samuel S. Raye

Samuel S. Raye, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Mexico. A resident for 20 years, he was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, William, Samuel and Daniel; two daughters, Debra and Renee; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled Saturday at Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Erna W. Runyan

Erna W. Runyan, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 28, 1927, in Germany. A resident for 10 years, she was a seamstress, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Red Cross.

She is survived by two sons, Fred and Billy; one sister, Annalisse; and three grandchildren.

John L. Stout

John L. Stout, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1917, in South Carolina. A resident for 18 years, he was a hotel chief engineer, an Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his companion, Donna Smith.

Lazar Vuckovich

Lazar Vuckovich, 32, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A limo driver, he was born Oct. 26, 1971.

He is survived by one son, Milenko Vuckovich; one daughter, Alexis Vuckovich; his parents, Milenko and Milena (Trkulja) Vuckovich; and one brother, Mike Vuckovich.

Services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Michael Lawrence Walker

Michael Lawrence Walker, 38, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A dealer, he was born Jan. 23, 1965, in Tacoma, Wash.

He is survived by his wife, Imelda; his parents, Carlos and Yvonne Walker, and one sister, Rosaline McWhorter, all of Michigan.

June Wolfe

June Wolfe, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. An insurance company secretary, she was born May 23, 1921, in Texas.

She is survived by one son, Gary Wolfe of Las Vegas.
