PC genealogy group planned
The Las Vegas PC User Group is sponsoring a genealogy special interest group in conjunction with the Downtown Family History Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 9 a.m. Jan. 10 at the Family History Center Library, 501 S. Ninth St.
The meetings will be held the second Saturday of each month.
The SIG is for beginners and expert genealogists using computers to do research and discuss various software and hardware items to facilitate record keeping and report creating.

Event honoring Gaughan moves
Because of the overwhelming response, Temple Beth Sholom will move its Jan. 11 event honoring Michael Gaughan to the Suncoast hotel.
A cocktail hour and silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Madried Room, followed by dinner in the hotel's Grand Ballroom.

Rec centers will host free movies
The Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services is holding two free movie nights this month.
Tonight at 6 p.m. "Kangaroo Jack" will be shown at Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave. For more information call 229-2488.
At 6 p.m. Jan. 16 a family movie will be shown at the Baker Park Community School, 1020 E. St. Louis Ave. Call 229-1527.
