H Street will close on Monday

Las Vegas Public Works Department said that H Street at Owens Avenue will close from 6 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews are working on an $11.6 million Owens Avenue to Vegas Drive improvement project.

While H Street is closed, traffic will be detoured to D Street for through travel.

The improvements include removing and replacing 2.5 miles of roadway on Vegas Drive and Owens Avenue between Interstate 15 and Rancho Drive. Work also includes installing a regional storm drainage system and traffic signals on Vegas Drive at Tonopah Drive at Simmons Street.

The entire project is expected to be complete between April and June.
