Letter: Many reasons to vote against Bush
Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 | 8:54 a.m.
We are a retired couple in the lower level of the middle-income group. No children. We got no tax cut. With the increased Medicare rate, we ended up paying a bit more tax than last year.
What happened to the tax cut? It all went to the rich, with some payments to families with children.
The gigantic tax cut for the rich resulted in wiping out the Clinton surplus and triggered a big Bush deficit.
The blatant tax cut for the rich, the resultant fiscal mismanagement and leading us into an unfortunate war are among the many reasons why President Bush must be beaten in the upcoming election.
