When Martin Scorsese released "The Last Temptation of Christ," the critics raved about it. No matter that it was not based on facts but on one man's rewriting of history! The critics loved it.
Mel Gibson's movie "The Passion of the Christ," is just the opposite. It is taken directly from history and it is based on the Bible. And what do the critics say about it? They are calling it "pornographic" and "excessively violent."
One is fiction -- and loved by the critics. One is fact -- and despised by the critics.
One is abhorred by followers of Christ; the other brings followers to tears. Is it hard to figure out which one is which?
