The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to join the "WE CARE" program, designed to attract and welcome the best possible teachers from across the country to Clark County.
The program was launched more than 15 years ago by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the Clark County School District.
Volunteers from the business community are asked to contact teacher candidates living outside Clark County who have been offered a contract of employment.
Volunteers then call the candidates, filling them in about the lifestyle and benefits of living in Clark County.
Each volunteer is assigned to one to three potential teachers to contact, taking about 20 minutes per candidate.
Anyone interested can register online at ccsd.net/jobs/LLPweCare.htm or by going to the website lvchamber.com/workforce2010 and clicking "We Care."
Recruiting is already under way.
Anyone who participated in this program last year should register online again to ensure that records are up-to-date.
For more information, contact the Clark County School District at 799-3337 (799-1019).
