Workshops on grant writing set
The Las Vegas Field Office of the Department of Housing Community Development along with the Center for Faith-based and Community Initiatives and the Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services are conducting a two-day grant writing workshop from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 3-4.
Faith-based and community groups will have the opportunity to learn: grant proposal techniques; how to access government funds; HUD programs available to nonprofits; organizational structure needed to secure government funds; HUD common factors for award; the 10 commandments of grant writing; how to work with local governments; organizational capacity building; and the importance of coalition building.

'I Have a Dream' scheduled Friday
The I Have a Dream Foundation will present the play "I Have A Dream" at 7 p.m. Friday in the Clark County Library Performing Arts Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, to celebration Black History month.
The performance will feature volunteers, students and staff from IHAD; the Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, an organization that works with low-income, first-generation and under-represented students to prepare them for college; and Unity Baptist Church.
Admission is free for all ages.
The performance, an original stage play by local playwright Raymond Giddens Jr., pays tribute to the legacy of black America and the contributions of black Americans to the arts, literature, and society.
