Mandalay Resort Group is changing the direction of its advertising for its 4,404-room Luxor megaresort on the Las Vegas Strip, Mandalay Resort Senior Vice President of Marketing and Events John Marz said this morning.
The new advertising will focus on the 10-year-old resort's iconic shape and many of the fun activities Luxor guests can enjoy, Marz said.
Brandweek reported Mandalay will spend $8.4 million on a new TV, print and radio campaign that asks "How will the pyramid affect you?" Targeted ads will appeal to meeting planners, travel agents, blacks and gays as well as the general public, the report noted.
In a nutshell, he characterized the ads as focusing on people having fun. "Less Egypt, a lot more fun," Marz said.
