Hazel Anderson

Hazel Anderson, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 27, 1939, in Dearborn, Mich. A lifelong resident, she was a retired hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by one son, Derek Anderson, and one sister, Audrey Zicari, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Robert Allen Baer

Robert Allen Baer, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 23, 1942, in Ohio. A resident for 16 years, he was a security officer for a local casino, an Army veteran, a member of the Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Special Forces Association.

He is survived by his wife, Hsiu-Feng; and one son, Robert Ashley Baer.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Cecyle Marie Blackorby

Cecyle Marie Blackorby, 84, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Green Castle, Mo. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Isador; one daughter, Bonnie Kaufman of Las Vegas; one son, Jerry Lee Blackorby of Atlanta; one sister, Lil Turner of Henderson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Emma Jean Brown

Emma Jean Brown, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 25, 1937, in Marlin, Texas. A resident for 32 years, she was a guest attendant at Caesars Palace.

She is survived by one daughter, Lovie M. Luckie, and one son, Ronnie D. Brown, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Albert Holloway of California and Prentice Jackson of Texas; five sisters, Troya Jackson, Doris Holloway, Vera Holloway, Glenda Clement and Linda Cains, both of Texas; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.

Thomas John Canavan

Thomas John Canavan, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 3, 1940, in New York. A resident for four years, he was a retired police detective, a Navy veteran, a member of the Police Benevolent Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Orange County Shields and New York and Nevada Umpire Association.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Canavan Jr. and William Canavan; two daughters, Rita Lancaster and Mary Ann Canavan; his mother, Rita Canavan; four brothers, Stephen, Robert, Raymond and John; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Goshen, N.Y. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Lucretia Carter

Lucretia Carter, 82, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Magnolia, La. A resident for 44 years, she was an inspector for a hotel.

She is survived by three sons, John Powell, Melvin Carter Jr. and Kenneth Carter, all of Las Vegas; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Millie Ellen Colliver

Millie Ellen Colliver, 91, of Las Vegas died Feb. 10 in a local convalescent center. She was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Missouri. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.

Graveside services were scheduled at 8 a.m. today in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Odell Earwood

Odell Earwood, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 25, 1928, in New Mexico. A resident for one year, he was a nurse, an Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion and troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalia; one daughter, Debbie Telesco; one brother, Garland Earwood; and five grandchildren.

Margaret Eaton

Margaret Eaton, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 14, 1911, in Illinois. A resident for nine years, she was a retired interior decorator.

She is survived by two daughters, Sally Hetzel and Margaret Carroll, both of Florida; one daughter-in-law, Jean Eaton of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is assisting Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien, Conn., which is handling arrangements.

Richard Echelini

Richard Echelini, 77, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired assistant treasurer in the banking industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Jayne E. Sorensen and Karin E. Kyes, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Theresa C. 'Terry' Erschen

Theresa C. "Terry" Erschen, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Palmerton, Pa. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired marketer for the telephone company and a member of Telecom Pioneers of America.

She is survived by one brother, Edward Zamadics of Lafayette, La.; three sisters, Margaret Vidocy of Casselberry, Fla., Anna Danner of Fayetteville, N.Y., and Dorothea Binder of Walnutport, Pa.; and her executor, Margaret Corta of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Monday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

John Fedonchuk

John Fedonchuk, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born in New York. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a retired real estate executive and a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who served for 22 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Virginia P.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan B. Adams of Hampton, Va.; his companion, Hannalore Lemke of Las Vegas; and one grandson.

Charles E. Fountain

Charles E. Fountain, 71, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Tampa, Fla. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant, a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, owned and operated a 7-Eleven store at Smoke Ranch Road and Decatur Boulevard from 1982-1998 and volunteered at the LDS Family History Center.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; four sons, David Keeler of Camarillo, Calif., Charles Keeler of Roy, Utah, Charles Fountain of Jacksonville, Fla., and Raymond Keeler of Las Vegas; one daughter, Karen Knick of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Nellie Mayo of New Jersey, Grace Ashbaugh of Spokane, Wash., and Stella Tomasello of Dallas; one brother, Robert Fountain of Middleburg, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the LDS chapel, 3350 W. Alexander Road. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Ruth Glover

Ruth Glover, 76, of Las Vegas died Feb. 21 in Louisiana. A resident for 60 years, she was a hospital nurse.

She is survived by one son, David Richards, one daughter, Mercedes Richards, and one sister, Flora Cooper, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Louis Richardson of California; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Vegas View Church of God in Christ, 1906 Glider St. Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Robert 'Rudy' Gonzales

Robert "Rudy" Gonzales, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A retired warehouser for Clark County and a Vietnam War Army veteran, he was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Brighton, Colo.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Heard of Henderson and Johnny Gonzales of Las Vegas; one daughter, Mercy Heard of Henderson; one stepdaughter, Monice Davis of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Herman Hansmann

Herman Hansmann, 90, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 23, 1913, in Louisiana. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired ticket writer for a sports book.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; one son, Arnold Leon Hansmann; two daughters, Thelma Anne and Gloria; one brother, Julius; 10 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Whitby Nelson Harden

Whitby Nelson Harden, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 1, 1955, in South Carolina. A resident for 36 years, she was a registered nurse, a member of Eastern Star and the Nurses Association.

She is survived by one brother, Richard R. Mullikin.

Florante Ralota Katubig, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 27, 1931, in Cebu City, Philippines.

He is survived by one brother, Renato Katubig of Illinois; and one sister, Remedios Katubig of the Philippines.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Anna Marie Patton

Anna Marie Patton, 97, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 14, 1906, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Patton of Pinehurst, Idaho; two daughters, Virginia Wood of Las Vegas and Patricia Martin of Pinehurst; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Jadwiga E. Saucier

Jadwiga E. Saucier, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 14, 1948, in South Africa. A resident for 27 years, she was a medical secretary.

She is survived by one son, William; one daughter, Jeanette; her mother, Justyna Danilow; one brother, Antoni Danilow; one sister, Anna Lupu; and seven grandchildren.
