Diners to feel the heat for charity
Southern Nevada law enforcement personnel will trade in their handcuffs for serving trays Wednesday at all area Applebee's restaurants.
The officers will serve lunch -- alongside the regular food servers -- from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The heat will be on patrons to tip the celebrity waiters. That money will be turned over to Special Olympics Nevada. This will benefit more than 2,220 Special Olympic athletes in Nevada.

CPR classes set in Spanish
The Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross is offering adult, child and infant CPR with an automated external defibrillation and first aid course in Spanish.
The classes are scheduled for Thursday at these times:
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Adult CPR with AED, $30; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Adult, Child and Infant CPR with AED, $35. Adult, Infant and Child CPR with AED and First Aid is available at a reduced cost of $45.

Henderson to host employment fair
Recreational Equipment Inc., a national consumer cooperative selling outdoor gear and clothing, will hold an employment fair Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 Water St.
REI is hiring 50 full- and part-time employees for sales staff, customer service, shipping-receiving, ski and bike shop technicians.

Option Care of Nevada's support group
