Letter: Valley residents need a good zoo

It is about time someone addressed the need for a good zoo here in Las Vegas! Las Vegas needs a good, medium-sized zoo that a family can get through in a few hours and that does not cost a fortune for admission.
I don't want to drive down to the Strip and deal with all the traffic and tourists to see the Secret Garden at The Mirage or the shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay.
With the growth that Las Vegas has seen in the past decade, isn't it time that the residents were considered instead of just the tourists?
