Reno girl named Junior Miss

Five teenage girls from across the state competed for the title of 2004 Nevada Junior Miss and a share of $7,000 in college scholarships in the Laxalt Auditorium in Reno.
Brooke Siem of Reno was awarded the title and a $3,000 cash scholarship.
Siem also won the $600 overall scholastics award, $400 for overall talent, interview and fitness and $400 for the "Be Your Best Self" essay award.
Siem will go on to compete in the America's Junior Miss National Finals in Mobile, Ala., in June where she will have an opportunity to win a share of over $200,000 in cash scholarships.
Mariah Smith of Washoe Valley was awarded first runner-up and received a $1,000 cash scholarship.
Caitlin Kelley of Sparks won for overall poise, receiving a $400 scholarship, and Tamsen Douglas of Reno received a $400 scholarship for best exemplifying the spirit of Junior Miss.
