Several hundred Clark County Republicans met Tuesday night to start the selection process that will choose 33 delegates to represent Nevada at this year's Republican National Convention.
Republicans put in their names Tuesday at the precinct meeting at the New Frontier.
"Tonight's just the first step," Clark County Republican Party Chairman Brian Scroggins said.
On March 20 several hundred Republicans will go on to the Clark County convention at the Palace Station to voice their support for President Bush.
From there 115 delegates will be chosen to go to the Nevada State Convention on April 29. Then 33 delegates, along with 30 alternates, will go to the national convention in New York City, which begins on Aug. 29.
The state Democratic caucus, which also is the first step in nominating delegates to the Democratic National Convention, will be held Saturday.
