LV conference begins

The National Grocers Association's annual conference begins today in Las Vegas and is expected to draw about 2,200 people for the four-day event.
The National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) is the national trade association representing retail and wholesale grocers that comprise the independent sector of the food distribution industry.
Former Vice President Al Gore and former Oklahoma Republican Congressman J.C. Watts will speak at the keynote session this evening. Gore and Watts will discuss the war in Iraq, terrorism and the 2004 presidential race.
Workshops include trends in food, health insurance, store technology and how to compete against worldwide industry giant Wal-Mart.
