This is in response to the Feb. 1 article by Las Vegas Sun reporter Steve Kanigher on the zoo that is being proposed for Floyd Lamb State Park in northwest Las Vegas. As a resident of Las Vegas for 60 years, as one who has heard and seen some outlandish ideas and happenings, I must say this one takes the cake.
How dare they even consider keeping animals out in 100-plus degree weather for six months out of the year? Where will all the animals go to escape the heat?
Also, they are going to bus tourists out to the zoo? Yeah, that's just what tourists come here to do. This zoo proposal should be dropped.
