Job fair scheduled at Texas Station

The Las Vegas Employment Guide is hosting a job fair from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Dallas Ballroom at Texas Station.

Among the major sponsors are Station Casinos, Target, Lady Luck, University of Phoenix. Other participants include: MGM MIRAGE, Auto Trader, Sallie Mae, Medical Association of Billers, Apex Bulk, Commodities, Nevada State Bank, Roto-Rooter, Bill Heard Chevrolet, Senior Support Services, American Institute of Technology, Party Lite Gifts, American Dream, and many others.

Students can learn about robotics

The Clark County School District will feature a science and technology chat program for students from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday on KLVX Channel 10.

The program entitled "Robotics Chat" will feature Edward Tunstel, senior robotics engineer with the NASA Jet Propulsion Robotics Vehicle Group.

Las Vegas is also home to some examples of Robotics in such venues as the Forum Shops at Caesars where robots are frequently mistaken as human. Robotics-Chat will take students for a behind-the-scenes tour of the attraction where they will see just how these marvels of machinery give the illusion of being real.

Clark County Assessor Mark Schofield

and Marilyn Wills from the State Department will be speaking on the new Medicare prescription plan at the Seniors United meeting at noon Wednesday at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Call 732-4366.

The S2 Art Center

is celebrating the printing atelier's First Friday in February with demonstrations of antique lithography presses and a showing of "Etchings with Character," featuring silkscreen etchings of animated cartoon characters, stamp art and comic strip cells. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority
