Senators not interested in discussing gambling

LINCOLN, Neb. -- State senators do not appear open to discussing expanded gambling again this session.
Thirty-six senators -- 11 more than a majority -- said in the Associated Press annual pre-session survey that they would not support efforts to revive a casino gambling plan.
Talk of casinos and legalizing expanded gambling took hours of debate this year, leading to placement of a constitutional amendment on the November ballot.
The Legislature's plan coexisted with another four-part proposal put on the ballot through a circulation of petitions.
Voters rejected both plans.
