Man killed in front of LV apartment complex
Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 | 9:08 a.m.
A 21-year-old Las Vegas man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in front of an apartment complex in the 4700 block of East Owens Avenue.
Metro Police reported that about 12:15 p.m. Jose Manuel Gonzalez was sitting in his car when another man ran up, fired multiple shots at him, and fled.
Police say the killing may have been over a drug debt.
Police are looking for the suspected killer, who is described as 21 or 22 years old, 5 foot, 11 inches tall, and approximately 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a "Phat Pharm" denim jacket, a purple Los Angeles Lakers jersey, and a black knit hat. Witnesses told police that the man appeared to be Hispanic.
The killer was last seen headed west on East Owens in a black 2004 Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck. The truck is lowered, has dark window tinting, and bore the word "SPORT" in red letters on the tailgate.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro Homicide at 229-3521.
