Stripers are being caught with cut baits by boaters who are fishing deep. They have been focusing their efforts toward Las Vegas Wash and on areas where trout have been planted.
There were reports that stripers were chasing rainbow trout following last week's plant at North Saddle Cove and the fishing dock. A striper weighing 16 pounds was caught Friday following the plant at North Saddle Cove. Another striper weighing approximately 16 pounds was taken that day at Pumphouse Cove.
The trout plants have been attracting quite a few people, and they are having success by casting small spinners. The next plants was scheduled for today at Hemenway, Horsepower, Pumphouse and North Saddle coves.
Anglers who were fishing from shore for trout over the weekend at Cottonwood had mediocre success for rainbow trout that ranged from 10 to 12 inches. NDOW was planning a stock trout today at Power Line Cove.
