Christmas tree recycling planned
The Springs Preserve will kick off its annual Christmas tree recycling program with tree drop-off hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday and running through Jan. 9 at any of these locations:
The Gardens at the Springs Preserve, 3701 W. Alta Drive; Anthem Hills Park, 2256 Reunion Drive in Henderson; Mission Hills Park, 551 Mission Drive in Henderson; Nevada Division of Forestry Nursery, Floyd Lamb State Park; Sunset Park, Eastern Avenue and Sunset Road; Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive in Henderson; Desert Breeze Park, Durango Drive and Spring Mountain Road; Lorenzi Park, Washington Avenue near Rancho Drive.
Mountain Crest Park, Durango Drive and Red Coach; Southern Highlands, 12200 Southern Highlands Parkway; Desert Research Institute, 1500 Buchanan Boulevard, Boulder City; Freedom Park, Mojave Road and Washington Avenue.
Las Vegas Councilman Steve Wolfson,
who represents Ward 2, will turn on new traffic signals on Homestretch Drive and Hualapai Way at 11 a.m. Monday. Clark County Commissioner Lynette Boggs McDonald plans to join Wolfson to put the new traffic signals into service.
