DENVER -- The five-member Colorado Division of Gaming Commission has approved gambling licenses for two companies that plan to expand operations in Central City and Black Hawk.
Diane Reimer, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Revenue, said Ameristar, based in Las Vegas, plans to redevelop the Mountain High Casino in Black Hawk.
Two casinos in Central City are planned by 3C Gaming, based in Switzerland. The licenses were approved on Thursday.
Redevelopment of Mountain High is expected to begin next week. The Central City casinos are expected to open in existing buildings in 2005.
