Convicted fight fixer Richard Mittleman has had his Illinois second's license revoked.
Mittleman, 61, of Oak Park, Ill., was sentenced earlier this month in Las Vegas after pleading guilty to fixing a match at Paris Las Vegas on Aug. 12, 2000. Mittleman, who also pleaded guilty to attempting to bribe an assistant U.S. attorney and a federal judge during the investigation, was sentenced to six months of home detention, a $2,000 fine and 250 hours of community service.
The Illinois Association of Boxing Commissioners revoked Mittleman's license on Monday.
Mittleman, who managed Oscar De La Hoya in 1992, was a key government witness in a Las Vegas trial earlier this year. Mittleman testified that he and promoter Robert Mitchell arranged for boxer Thomas Williams to take a dive in a fight against Richard Melito Jr. at Paris Las Vegas.
Williams and Mitchell were convicted of conspiracy and sports bribery, but have both appealed their convictions, alleging that prosecutors introduced evidence that the jury should not have been allowed to hear. A hearing on motions for a new trial is scheduled for Jan. 7 before U.S. District Court Judge James Mahan.
