A woman in her 20s died early today after the car she was driving flipped in a traffic roundabout on Town Center Drive, police said.
The woman, whose name and exact age were not released, appeared to have been traveling above the posted 35 mph speed limit as she entered the intersection of Town Center and Granite Ridge Road near West Flamingo Road about 5 a.m., Sgt. Tracy McDonald of Metro's traffic investigation said.
The woman's four-door sedan then struck a curb on the traffic island, causing the car to flip. The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, McDonald said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The damage was not excessive," he said. "This was definitely a surviveable accident."
