Police officer files suit against North Las Vegas

A female North Las Vegas Police officer has filed a federal lawsuit against the city, alleging that she is being harassed and subjected to a hostile work environment.
The suit, filed earlier this month by Patricia Willems, states that she has received threatening phone calls and has been forced to do more work in retaliation for a previous lawsuit she filed against the city that resulted in a settlement.
Willems settled the previous federal lawsuit against the city in 2002 for $75,000.
In that suit Willems and another female officer alleged that the department allowed a hostile work environment and sexual discrimination. It further alleged that Willems was passed over for a promotion because of her age and gender.
