Ralph Vernette Bland
Ralph Vernette Bland, 76, of North Las Vegas died Nov. 29 in North Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1928, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 11 months, he was an Army veteran.
He is survived by two sisters, Vivian Hansen of North Las Vegas and Delores.
Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Dec. 16 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Marie T. Bush
Marie T. Bush, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 21, 1915, in Pierz, Minn. A resident for 52 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Poser and Robert Poser, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Carol Bellini of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to Progressive Hospital, 4015 S. McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Abby Ellen D'Andrea
Abby Ellen D'Andrea, 26, of Las Vegas died Saturday. She was born June 13, 1978, in Las Vegas. She was a certified medical assistant.
She is survived by one daughter, Riley Elizabeth D'Andrea, her parents, Sam and Denice D'Andrea, one sister, Ashlee D'Andrea, her paternal grandfather, Samuel D'Andrea Sr., and her maternal grandmother, Etha Wooten, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Destinee Anastachia Dirden
Destinee Anastachia Dirden died Saturday, her date of birth, in a local hospital.
She is survived by her mother, De'Shara Dates, and her father, Dominique Dirden, both of Las Vegas.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Bernice P. Gaither
Bernice P. Gaither, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 9, 1931, in England. A resident for 32 years, she was a change person for United Coin Co.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Roslyn Collins and Marilyn Niskanen, and one son, Martyn Buckland, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Christine Dunn of England; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.
Edward Garrett
Edward Garrett, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Tulsa, Okla. A resident for 30 years, he was a dealer and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by four daughters, Donna McDonald and Crystal Garrett, both of Las Vegas, Cynthia Peach of Buffalo, N.Y., and Rosemary Avery-Davis of Texas; one son, Carl E. Garrett of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Washington Rucker of California, Timothy Barnett of Las Vegas and Kenneth Dean of Oklahoma; two sisters, Betty Galtney of Maryland and Evelyn Barnett of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Harriet Grace 'Gracie' Kostal
Harriet Grace "Gracie" Kostal, 84, of Brookings, Ore., died Thursday in an Oregon care center. She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Compton, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident for 45 years, she was an ice skater with the "Sonja Henie's Ice Revue," a homemaker and a member of Phi Alpha Beta sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur H.; two daughters, Candice Kostal and Kathy Kostal, both of Parker, Colo.; two brothers, Vic Griffin of Lebanon, Ore., and Leonard Griffin of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Joyce Blackman; and one granddaughter.
No local services are scheduled. Redwood Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home, Brookings, Ore., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Oasis Shelter Home, P.O. Box 932, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
Marvin D. Snider
Marvin D. Snider, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 2, 1945, in Taft, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a retired electronics engineer in the oil industry and was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon "Chere"; one son, Richard Snider of Ventura, Calif.; one daughter, Julie Ann Litzsinger of Pahrump; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Sabrina Marie Nelson
Sabrina Marie Nelson, 3, of Henderson died Nov. 23 in Henderson. She was born March 8, 2001, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her mother, Helen Borne, two brothers, Larry D. Smith and Douglas E. Smith, and one sister, Katerina M. Nelson, all of Henderson; and her grandparents, Rose M. Nelson of Sandy Valley, and Douglas E. Borne of Fontana, Calif.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. today in Solid Rock Foursquare Church, 2929 Cedar Ave. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
