CARSON CITY -- Roll call on those who voted to convict state Controller Kathy Augustine of misuse of state equipment in her 2000 re-election campaign:
For conviction (14): Mark Amodei, R-Carson City; Terry Care, D-Las Vegas, Maggie Carlton, D-Las Vegas, Warren Hardy, R-Las Vegas; Joe Heck, R-Las Vegas; Steve Horsford, D-Las Vegas; John Lee, D-North Las Vegas; Bernice Mathews, D-Reno; Dennis Nolan, R-Las Vegas, Bill Raggio, R-Reno; Mike Schneider, D-Las Vegas; Dina Titus, D-Las Vegas; Randolph Townsend, R-Reno and Valerie Wiener, D-Las Vegas.
Voting for acquittal (7): Bob Beers, R-Las Vegas; Barbara Cegavske, R-Las Vegas; Bob Coffin, D-Las Vegas; Mike McGinness, R-Fallon; Dean Rhoads, R-Tuscarora; Sandra Tiffany, R-Henderson; and Maurice Washington, R-Sparks.
Vote to convict on misuse of the state computer that lost because it failed to gain the two-thirds or 14 votes needed:
For conviction (11): Amodei, Carlton, Heck, Horsford, Lee, Mathews, Nolan, Schneider, Titus, Townsend and Wiener.
For acquittal (10): Beers, Care, Cegavske, Coffin, Hardy, McGinness, Raggio, Rhoads, Tiffany and Washington.
Vote to dismiss the charge that Augustine permitted her employees to work on the campaign during office hours. A simple majority of 11 votes was needed for dismissal.
For dismissal: (11) Beers, Care, Coffin, Hardy, Heck, Nolan, Raggio, Rhoads, Tiffany, Townsend and Washington.
Opposing dismissal: (9) Amodei, Carlton, Horsford, Lee, Mathews, McGinness, Schneider, Titus and Weiner.
Sen. Barbara Cegavske, R-Las Vegas, was absent on this vote, attending the graduation ceremonies of her son Adam at the University of Nevada, Reno.
