Kris Bettinger

Kris Bettinger, 56, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born April 30, 1948, in Norfolk, Va. A resident for 20 years, she was a teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; two stepsons, Jefferey Bettinger of Meridian, Idaho, and Eric Bettinger of University Heights, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Debbie Price of Oakland, Ore., Janell Bettinger of North Las Vegas, Leigh Short of Moscow, Idaho; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Delia Dela Cruz

Delia Dela Cruz, 46, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 30, 1958, in the Philippines. A resident for three years, she was a retired Army sergeant first class and a Persian Gulf veteran.

She is survived by one son, Sherwin Dela Cruz; her father, Marcellano Paguirigan; and one sister, Maryknoll Paguirigan, all of Las Vegas.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Virginia Ann Fish

Virginia Ann Fish, 72, of Henderson died Nov. 23 in a local care center. She was born Nov. 24, 1931, in California. A resident for 50 years, she worked for a laundry company and was a member of Salvation Army.

She is survived by two sons, Roy Fish and Altie Fish, both of Henderson; two daughters, Sue Cecil of Washington and Patty of California; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jose Pelayo Garcia

Jose Pelayo Garcia, 43, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1961, in Mexico. A resident for 15 years, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Eriberta T. Flores; three sons, Jose Pelayo, Jonas Pelayo and Valentine Toledo; two daughters, Arminda Rangel and Anna Coronado; his father, Basilio Pelayo; his mother, Consuelo Garcia; four brothers, Cipriano Pelayo, Liberado Pelayo, Gustavo Pelayo and Celso Pelayo; five sisters, Lupe Morales, Maria de Jesus Pelayo, Rosa Pelayo, Juana Pelayo and Martha Pelayo; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to a 2 p.m. rosary and service in Desert Memorial chapel. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North is handling arrangements.

Emily Harris

Emily Harris, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1913, in Chicago. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired cook.

She is survived by five daughters, Betty Cummings of Three Oaks, Mich., Shirley Leslie and Donna Woolley both of Las Vegas, Barbara Flies and Sherrilyn Johnson both of New Buffalo, Mich.; one son, Robert Surlock of Fort Worth, Texas; 56 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to a noon service Sunday in Palm Chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements.

Margaret Johanningmeier

Margaret Johanningmeier, 81, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1923, in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of American Legion-Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by six daughters, Charmaine Ross of Henderson, Kaye Lowe of Springville, Iowa, Joanne Grankow of Rapid City, S.D., Peggy Smiley of Westminster, Colo., Anne Laviolette of Pueblo, Colo., Sally Secks of Marion, Iowa; four sons, Jerry Crawford and John Crawford, both of San Antonio, Donald Crawford of Nashville, Tenn., and Thomas Crawford of Thornton, Colo.; two sisters, Evie Tiefel and Helen Kohl, and one brother, Richard Schroeder, all of Dubuque; 26 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

No local services scheduled. Graveside services will be in Denver. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements.

Rosalie Mahoney

Rosalie Mahoney, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daugter, Janice K. Webb of Las Vegas; one son, John Mahoney of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Judith A. McEvoy and Donna R. Heidenreich both of Omaha; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel. Burial to follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Ronald Lavon Mills

Ronald Lavon Mills, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for six years, he was a maintenance supervisor, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge 17.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; three daughters, Kay Kick of California, Penny Rust of Utah and Connie Carl of Las Vegas; one sister, Darlene Strohm of Jackson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Georgia M. Protze

Georgia M. Protze, 98, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 3, 1906, in Knoxville, Iowa. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired owner and operator of a beauty shop.

She is survived by two daughters, Verlene V. Wheeler and Ruth E. Protze, both of Las Vegas; one son, Ronald W. Protze of Golden, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

All services will be in Denver. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lula Reese

Lula Reese, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 8, 1919, in Beaver, Utah. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Gayle Reese of St. George, Utah, and City Councilman Gary Reese of Las Vegas; one daughter, Barbara Stubblefield of Salt Lake City; one brother, Earl Limb of Minersville, Utah; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Gateway chapel, 4040 E. Wyoming Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Josephine Rush

Josephine Rush, 90, of Las Vegas died Aug. 14 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 18, 1913. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

Howard A. Schmidt

Howard A. Schmidt, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a retired government contractor, Air Force veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus council 5673, past grand knight and past president of National Property Managers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A.; two daughters, Karen Dobiyanski of Las Vegas and Tracey Collier of Citrus Heights, Calif.; one son, Eric Schmidt of Gresham, Ore.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Don Tuck

Don Tuck, 61, of Sandy Valley died Monday in Sandy Valley. He was born July 19, 1943, in Bangor, Maine. He was a welder and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Frye; one son, Don Tuck III of California; two daughters, Sandra Stacy of Maryland and Donna Tuck of Tennessee; one sister, Donna Curtis of Maine; one brother, Frank Tuck of California; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending. Nevada Funeral Service, 725 S. Casino Center Blvd., Suite 208, is handling arrangements.

Steven D. Van Sant

Steven D. Van Sant, 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 22, 1951, in California. A resident for 12 years, he was an estimator for the construction industry.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four daughters, Hope, Polly, Renee and Bridget; his father, Luther; and four grandchildren.

Dana J. Waller

Dana J. Waller, 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 7, 1955, in Oklahoma City. A resident for 14 years, she was a retail clerk and a member of the NAACP.

She is survived by her companion, Eddie Lee Conley; one daughter, Rana Allen of Pasadena, Texas; her mother, Jessie Palmer of Denver; one brother, Willis Patterson of Houston; four sisters, Pamela March and Cheryl Patterson, both of Dallas, and Ledora Patterson and Gail Patterson, both of Denver; two grandchildren.

No local services schedules. Services will be in Houston. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Coleman Ware Jr.

Coleman Ware Jr., 78, of North Las Vegas died Nov. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Fort Smith, Ark. A resident for 16 years, he was a truck driver and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Clent Nell; three sons, Don Ware of Phillips Ranch, Calif., Gary Ware of Culver City, Calif., and Phillip Ware of Las Vegas; two daughters, Frankie Ware-Andrews of North Las Vegas and Margie Ashley of Los Angeles; two sisters, Betty Holyfield of Kansas City and Fannie Bell Walker of Oakland, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.

Clark O. Witsaman

Clark O. Witsaman, 88, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 8, 1916, in Aultman, Ohio. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired site developer for convenience stores and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one son, James Witsaman of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one brother, Stanley A. Witsaman of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Floyd L. 'Tiny' Wright

Floyd L. "Tiny" Wright, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 11, 1946, in Montana. A resident for eight years, he was a retired Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Frank L. Wright; two brothers, Roy Wright and Alvin "Sonny" Huntsman; one sister, Norma Boles; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North

Robert E. Ybarra

Robert E. Ybarra, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 3, 1931, in San Diego. A resident for 59 years, he was a retired supervisor for a utility company, Korean War Air Force veteran, and a member of the UNLV Alumni Association and the Rebel Athletic Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; two sons, Wade Ybarra of Reno and Terry Ybarra of Sparks; one stepson, Jeff Morgan of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Tracey Stewart of Jackson, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held 9 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
