National Finals Rodeo: Annual convention at Mirage

The PRCA's 58th National Convention kicked off Tuesday and will run through today at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. For the second year in a row, the Mirage played host to the annual convention, which features an impressive list of speakers as well as a variety of sessions geared to the betterment of professional rodeo.Chicago-based communications consultants Myrna Pedersen and Joan McGrath are presenting a forum on techniques for communicating effectively for a rodeo. The duo has been conducting communications training seminars since 1986 and have worked extensively with horse industry professionals, such as the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Keynote speaker Jon Spoelstra was expected to share his sports marketing strategies.
