Rainbow Company to stage 'Seussical'
The Rainbow Company will present its production of the musical "Seussical!" Friday through Dec. 12 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 Brush St. The show will entertain children and adults alike with characters taken from the creations of Dr. Seuss.
Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays; and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Tickets are $7; $5 for teens and seniors; $3 for children ages twelve and under, and on sale at CHAC.

Gun turn-in program scheduled
A gun turn-in program will be run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart, 1807 W. Craig Road. It is sponsored by North Las Vegas Police, in cooperation with Wal-Mart, North las Vegas, Cox Communications, Cannery Casino and Touch of Class Window Coverings.
The event gives people who no longer wish to own or have guns in their homes an opportunity to turn in the guns and receive a gift certificate from Wal-Mart ($100 for long guns, $50 for hand guns and $10 for BB guns). All with no questions asked. Those who bring guns to turn in will not be identified in any way.
Collected guns will be destroyed. For more information, call 633-1827.
Mexican dance group plans holiday show
The Mexico Vivo Dance Company in a celebration of the holiday season will perform 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
Admission is $7; $5 for seniors and children under 12, and are available for advance purchase at Winchester Center.
The company will celebrate the Mexican Revolution, Virgin of Guadalupe Day, Christmas and New Year's Day with music and song. Nativity plays called pastorelas will mark Christmas, and the company will perform dances specific to each of the holidays as well as modern and popular dances.

Community College of Southern Nevada's Concert Dance
Company and and duo violinists Marc Ramirez and Olivia Hajioff will perform 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in CCSN's Horn Theater, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Admission is $8; $5 for students and seniors. For more information, call 651-5483.
The Al Snyder Boys and Girls Club,
a former 7-Eleven store renovated to provide after-school programs to youth ages 5-18, will be the focus of a refurbishment project. Volunteers will clean and paint the interior and exterior of the facility, replace cabinets, counter tops and ceiling tiles beginning with a volunteer welcome and check presentation at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Club, 1011 Dumont Blvd. at Maryland Parkway. Marilyn Jansen, author of "Amaryllis of Hawaii,"

The Christmas show "A Holiday Spectacular"
featuring Tony and Lloyd will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Metropolitan Community Church, 1140 Almond Tree Lane. The show will be a mix of fun and holiday music favorites. Tickets are $20. Call 413-4278.
