Another murder charge weighed

Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 | 9:38 a.m.

A 25-year-old man accused of murdering the sister of a Clark County prosecutor may also be charged with the murder of the man he lived with.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Robert Daskas said the district attorney's office is currently talking with Metro Police detectives to determine if Sean Sales, who is charged with the shotgun slaying of Andrea Hendricks, 25, should also be charged with the murder of James Stone, 41.

Hendricks was found dead on Nov. 4 in a home at the 5300 block of Images Court near Decatur Boulevard and Meadows Lane.

Sales was arrested on Nov. 7 on allegations that he murdered Hendricks. He was arrested the same day Stone was found shot dead in his home on Buffalo Drive near Grand Teton Drive.

Sales is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of murder with a weapon, attempted robbery, two counts of robbery, and two counts of burglary.

Daskas said if Sales is charged with the murder of Stone, both cases would be combined in a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 14 before Justice of the Peace Karen Bennett-Haron.

Metro Police said officers had to use a Taser gun and pepper spray to take down Sales, who had been the subject of a three-day manhunt, in connection with the fatal shooting of Hendricks, who is the sister of Chief Deputy District Attorney Craig Hendricks.
