Lost City Museum plans open house
The Lost City Museum will hold its Holiday Open House 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at the museum in Overton.
A drawing for the raffle, which will feature a chance to win storyteller dolls, a wedding vase, jewelry, or artwork from several of the artists who exhibit at the museum, will be 2 p.m.
In addition to the raffle, the open house includes free admission to the museum, refreshments and an exhibit of watercolors by Boulder City artist Georgine Morelli.
The museum is on State Route 169 off Interstate 15, exit 93 or via Lake Mead Boulevard and North Shore Road or the Valley of Fire.
Parade of Lights set at Lake Mead
The 28th annual Lake Mead Parade of Lights will begin 6 p.m. Saturday in the Boulder Basin area of Lake Mead.
The annual holiday event gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy the brightly decorated vessels and the parade on the water. Boaters will depart from Lake Mead Marina and proceed along Boulder Beach to Las Vegas Boat Harbor before returning to Lake Mead Marina. Up to 50 sail and power boats will participate in the parade.

Santa Clothes shopping scheduled
The children's annual Santa Clothes Christmas Shopping Spree will begin 7:30 a.m. Thursday at JCPenney, 3542 S. Maryland Parkway.
Members of the Las Vegas Rotary Club and UNLV sports team members in partnership with Penney's at the Boulevard l and Meadows malls will be making the Christmas season a little brighter for several area children who have "fallen through the cracks" and would have little or no Christmas.
Children will also be provided with a toy and a special holiday party hosted at UNLV with members of the men and women's various athletic teams to assist. For more information, call Patricia at 385-3677, Bob at 243-6203 or Steve at 363-2483.
Credit counseling offers 'Fresh Start'
Consumer Credit Counseling Service is offering the program "Fresh Start Checking" 10 a.m. Monday in CCCS's Conference Center, 2650 S. Jones Blvd.,
The program offered by CCCS, a nonprofit United Way agency, and Nevada State Bank, will allow residents who have been denied banking privileges an opportunity to re-establish and maintain a satisfactory banking relationship.
Preregistration is required two business days in advance. Registration fee of $20 must be received at time of pre-registration.

DUI awareness program scheduled
In recognition of National Drunk and Drugged Awareness Month, the fourth annual "You Drink, You Drive, You Lose" event will begin 12:30 Saturday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Activities include a recognition ceremony featuring elected officials and victims of drunken and drugged drivers, "fatal vision Olympics" and informational booths.

Open auditions for "Cinderella"
will be held by Signature Productions 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. today, 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Nevada Ballet Theatre, 1651 Inner Circle Drive. All roles are available to men and women, ages 16 and older, actors, singers and dancers. Call 878-7529 or Kris Welte at 499-9880.
The celebration of the Saint Nicholas Festival
will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church, 2120 Lindell Road. Bring an empty shoe and St. Nicholas will fill it with candy.
The monthlong "Christmas at the Liberace Museum"
will kick off with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony 5 p.m. Thursday at the museum, 1775 E. Tropicana Ave. Beginning at 4 p.m., admission to the museum will be half price with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. The 11th annual Ariat Country Christmas Western Gift Expo
